The sector of the culture has united against acts of censorship and cancellation carried out by the Popular Party and Vox in recent days. We demand the protection of our fundamental rights because without culture there is no democracy“, they have published. The same message reproduced in Galician, Basque and Catalan in addition to Spanish has invaded social networks, sent both from the main cultural centers of Spain and by artists such as Alba Flores, Juan Diego Botto, among others. Later, Natalia GarrigaMinister of Culture has issued another press release in which she shows her support for the initiative: “I join the appeal of the cultural sector to denounce the censorship that some productions cultural as a result of the new governments of PP and vox in various territories. The Government of Catalonia will always defend freedom of expression and cultural and linguistic diversity“, he declared. Also the Minister of Culture, Miquel Iceta, has joined the protest against censorship which has led to the cancellation of different shows in areas where Vox has come to power after the last municipal elections.
