The event, now in the hands of Concert Studio, also changes its name and will be called Alma-Festival Jardines Pedralbes
The music promoter Concert Studio has announced this Friday that it will organize a festival in July, which will be located in the Poble Espanyol grounds, under the name Alma – Festival Jardines Pedralbes, which will emulate those that took place during ten editions in the gardens of the Palacio de Pedralbes from Barcelona.
In fact, Concert Studio, which lost the public contest called by the Generalitat to continue organizing concerts during the summer in the gardens of the Pedralbes Palace, considers that the “Alma – Festival Jardines Pedralbes” will be the eleventh edition of the festival, which has been recognized in Europe for its greatest hits and has brought together great artists since its first edition in 2013″.
This festival, whose program will be announced next Tuesday, will be held at the emblematic Poble Espanyol venue, in Montjuïc, from July 10 to 27.
Concert Studio has made the announcement this Friday through a video published on its social networks that summarizes the 10 years of a festival that has brought together artists such as Bob Dylan, Patti Smith, Mariah Carey, Lana del Rey, Tom Jones or Simple Minds since 2013.
“The Jardines Pedralbes Festival continues, it does not end here, it moves, festivals have a soul, the soul is in the people, in talent, in interest, in illusion, in initiative, in smiles, in education, in the way we have done the Jardines Pedralbes Festival”, pointed out its director, Martín Pérez.
In the absence of specifying the poster next Tuesday 28, Pérez has assured that this new festival will include “prestigious national and international artists, following the line of the musical event that has been held up to now in the gardens of the Pedralbes Palace”, with musical genres that will go from rock and folk to pop or electronic music.
After the decision of the contest called by the Generalitat and won by the promoter Clipper’s Live was announced last February, Concert Studio considered that the tender for the Pedralbes festival in Barcelona had been “unfair”.
Clipper’s Live had offered a million euros to use the gardens for three summers, the same figure that Doctor Music had put on the table, and almost double the 555,000 euros of Concert Studio.

In the assessment of the artistic and technical offer, Concert Studio obtained the highest rating, with 40.61 points, while Clipper’s Live was below, with 31.76, the same as Doctor Music, with 30.56 points, and Proactiv, with 30.09.
Those responsible for Concert Studio then regretted that “the economic has weighed more than the artistic” and that the Generalitat has not taken into account that the Jardins de Pedralbes Festival has been nominated for the international Iberian Festival Awards, and that due to its setting they have Past artists as relevant as Patti Smith, Raphael, Jethro Tull, Madness, Alan Parsons, Kool & The Gang, George Benson, Ben Harper, Diana Krall and The Beach Boys, among others.
