Public school secondary teachers, that is, those who teach in the third educational tranche of the national education systems -which in Spain covers adolescents from 12 to 16 years old- tend to have a base salary of about 1,700 euros if you have no experience.

But to that base salary must be added the specific supplement – which pays for the specific characteristics of the position held, such as dangerousness or responsibility – and the destination supplement, which is charged according to the level of the position performed. And in some autonomous communities, such as the Balearic Islands, the two Castillas and Extremadura, a plus is also charged, called regional specific complement.
More than 2,400 euros gross
All these supplements mean that the average salary of teachers in public secondary education in Spain is about 2,430 euros gross per month (about 29,200 euros gross per year).
And to that salary we must add extra pay and the advantage that, like any official, it is an armored job: they cannot be fired.
