Berlin For the squeaky-clean race, where bars of soap, brushes and detergent bottles act as gangs to keep the karts lurching in spilled fabric softener on course, Nintendo reactivated various characters from previous “Mario Kart” games as guest stars.
Petey, Wiggler and Kamek guest star
With Mario, Princess Peach or Dino Yoshi, for example, the mutated piranha Petey (also known as Mutant Tyranha from “Mario Kart Double Dash”), caterpillar Wiggler (“Mario Kart 7”) or magician Kamek (“Mario Kart Tour” ) heat through the bathroom.
But that will only be from an unspecified date this summer, when the fifth wave of new tracks for “Mario Kart Deluxe 8” will be released.
The bathroom route costs extra
You can only enjoy it as a buyer of the Switch title, which costs around 60 euros, if you buy the so-called booster route pass for 25 euros or if you are a subscriber to the Nintendo Switch Online expansion pass.
Within the Booster Track Pass, Nintendo has planned a total of eight new race courses by the end of the year, which will be released in six waves.
