Shenzhen Huawei has replaced more than 13,000 parts affected by US trade sanctions in its products. This is according to a transcript of the Feb. 24 speech by the Chinese company’s founder, Ren Zhengfei.

Huawei has replaced components affected by US trade sanctions with domestic Chinese products and redesigned 4,000 circuit boards for its products over the past three years, according to the speech published by China’s Shanghai Jiao Tong University on Friday.

The production of printed circuit boards has stabilized. In 2022, Huawei invested $23.8 billion in research and development. The information could not be independently verified by Reuters.
