'Georgian Labyrinth' Site Decided for Rehearsals and Performances of Bristol Beyond Project

Produced by Theatre Bristol, commissioned by Bristol City Council and supported by Circomedia, Bristol Ferment and University of Bristol, Bristol Beyond is a large-scale project, led by Karla Shacklock, to create a site-specific promenade piece later this year, with a week of performances following five weeks of rehearsal.

The site for the project has now been confirmed as the old Guild Hall, a 'fantastic Georgian labyrinth, made up of dozens of rooms, court houses, prison cells and vaults' spanning Broad Street and Small Street in the centre of Bristol, and just another in a line of amazing ex-municipal buildings reimagined for artistic practice (cf The Island).
