Clown to Performance

31st December 2011

Starting in January 2012, Bury Met and Shifting Sands Theatre will launch an exciting series of clown workshops – ten days spread over three weeks – to devise a new show, Love is Blind, that will then be performed for two nights in February in the Studio Theatre at The Met, Bury, Manchester.

The project is open to applications and is 'ideal for all those with previous experience who wish to develop their devising and performance skills, put them into action – and have fun!'

The project will be led by Gerry Flanagan, artistic director of Shifting Sands Theatre, a well-known performer and director with more than twenty years experience teaching clowning and physical theatre. The final show will be a mixture of clowning and Commedia Dell'Arte.

Workshop dates are 24-26 & 31 January and 1, 3-4 & 7 February 2012 with performances on 8 & 9 February. To book a place or for more information email info@themet.biz
